Sean St Ledger: "Gareth was a major reason I came here.
"I looked at the manager and, with him a centre-half who had played for England, it felt the right move for me.
"It was a great opportunity to learn from one of the best centre-halves I loved to watch when I was younger.
"It makes it disappointing now and I worry because I am on loan. He had confidence in me.
"Now a new manager is coming in and I have to prove myself, as we all do.
"It doesn't happen very often that the manager loses his job after a win, but the chairman has explained his reasons.
"It was a major shock to all the lads. We are one point off the top and Gareth was very well liked.
"It seems tough but the chairman is the main man. Regardless of who the manager is, we go out and try to win for ourselves and the fans."
