Middlesbrough chief executive Keith Lamb believes it is "vital" they reach the Premier League next season. Boro are still receiving parachute payments following their relegation in 2009 and Lamb feels they are in good shape to mount a promotion bid. "It's vital for the club that we win promotion," Lamb told the Middlesborough Gazette. "This club needs to be back in the Premier League. "The stadium, the training ground, everything is geared for top-flight football. "We need to reach the top flight in order to sustain all of our facilities. If we don't do it this year then the club will not be terminally damaged, but naturally it will make it more difficult."
