Manager Owen Coyle expects goalkeeper Ali Al-Habsi to complete his protracted move to Wigan, allowing the Scot to turn his attention to adding to his own squad.
And he expects to sign Rodrigo, who spent last season on loan at the Reebok, for a cut-price ?3.5million.
Target: Rodrigo Moreno could be set to return to Bolton after a successful loan
His club have slapped a ?6m price tag on the Brazilian-born Spaniard but Coyle is confident he can strike a deal.
The youngster is expected to line-up for Spain in next month's Under 20 World Cup in Columbia and is reportedly keen on a return to the Premier League.
Meanwhile, highly-rated Boro starlet Williams is also on Coyle's radar after he impressed last season.
Riverside boss Tony Mowbray is keen to hold on to the defender as he targets a return to the top flight but has been told he must trim the wage bill before he can add to his squad.
Moving on? Rhys Williams (centre) is also wanted by Bolton
Speaking back in May, Wlliams admitted he would leap at the chance of top flight football.
'If a Premier League club comes in for me, of course I'd have to be keen to listen to what they have to say,' he said.
'I've heard nothing from either Middlesbrough or Bolton but I've seen what's been in the papers and if the chance came to make a move to Bolton I'd have to be silly not to be interested.'
