Boro Reserves only took a squad of 12 players over to Lancashire for this game at Morecambe. This proved to be an unwise move as Andrew Davies suffered an horrendous injury after 15 minutes.

The score at the time was 1-1. Boro took the lead after two minutes through Craig Dove and Blackburn equalised seven minutes later.

Michael Ricketts got the winner for Middlesbrough with around seven minutes remaining.
